A (Speculative 😃) AI Coach for Storytelling

Storytelling is important. From job interviews, science communication, teamwork, to rescheduling a meeting at the last minute, we rely on telling a good story to get our audience convinced, impressed, or simply engaged enough to keep the conversation going. Yet, storytelling can also be difficult at times due to the nuances of dynamic social interactions, especially when considering neurodivergence, opportunity for exposure to different types of social settings (e.g., due to SES and cultural differences), etc. Meanwhile, traditional human coaches can be hard to access – sometimes more so for those who need them most. Luckily, the development of generative AI offers a promising direction. In a mobile app UI prototype I designed, I explored the possibility of building a (speculative) AI coach for storytelling to complement traditional coaching.
